Last night’s game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans was bit of a blow out, but at the same time went into overtime. Through the first half, it seemed that this game was all but over as the Ray Lewis and the Ravens went into the locker room with a 21-7 lead. Right out of the gate, Baltimore extended their lead to 21 as Billy Cundiff returned the second half opening kickoff 103 yards to pay dirt in a jaw dropping run back. Even though the game seemed a complete route, Matt Schaub and the Texans had a different idea. After two 90+ yard drives, including a two point conversion with 21 seconds left, this “once-was blow out” was now a nail biter headed into overtime. In OT, the Ravens defense left no doubt who was the better team, as Josh Wilson pick sixed a Schaub ill-advised pass to end the game. But this got me thinking about some of the best comebacks I have ever seen. My destination was a 1994 Texas high school football game. Here is the freshest comeback in the history of sports people . . . ENJOY.
(Note: the black team is down 41-17 with 3 minutes left in the game)
