Rare Cheetah found in the Sahara

These images are from trap cameras that were set up in the Sahara Desert. Cheetahs themselves are not a rare species, but the one seen above is. It is a different type of cheetah with a very skinny frame and large eyes. Scientists are lead to believe that only 10 individuals are left in the whole Niger area and a total of 200 in the Sahara Desert. Spotting these cheetahs is a huge scientific discovery because for a long time no one knew how many were left if any. Another image below shows a closer look at the animal.
