NBA’s top 10 Plays. December 29th, 2010

The best part about the end of the year is all the top 10’s of everything being put out. This one doesn’t summarize the whole year or anything, just one day. In this one day so many sick plays went down that they had to be wrapped up into a full 10. Check em out below my Freshies.

Arenas with CRAZY SHOT!

It didn’t count (75 ft.), but still worth a second look. The ball hits the rim, goes off the shot clock (that’s why it didn’t count), and SWISH! Would have been sick to see it count, it’s all good though, they were playing the NETS.

Lebron in trouble?

Looks like Lebron is catching fire for some recent comments he’s made.

“I’m not saying let’s take New Jersey and let’s take Minnesota out of the league. But hey, you guys are not stupid, I’m not stupid, it would be great for the league.”

That’s what he said, pretty much stating that the bad teams should be taken out of the league. He also mentioned taking players like Kevin Love or Brook Lopez and putting them on better teams. The main point Lebron was trying to get at was making the league more competitive and not have teams that can just get ran over every night.

A lot of people in the basketball world are looking at this as a sign of disrespect from Lebron and are questioning whether or not he really wants to play that much in the league. He doesn’t have a ring yet, so I’m pretty sure he’s good to stick around for a while.

Blake Griffin nearly loses his head.

A lot of people may think why we cover this dude so much. I try not to personally, but then he comes out and has a dunk that is better than the previous one. Here he’s is transition and gets an alley-oop for the slam, nearly losing his head in the process. Seriously look at where his arm pit is compared to the rim, and he has to duck his head down for protection. Blake Griffin you are super-human. And Fresh-U certified of course.

Melo to the Nets?

Naaaaaat! (not) Even Melo was shocked by this allegation. Check out his reaction when a reporter asks him about officially going to the Nets. Things are just getting weird now, why in the world would he ever want to go there? And who from the Nets would even be able to replace him in Denver, the whole roster?

“Nah dog”

What in the world are they feeding these kids?

Alright honestly what is going on here? Are these kids getting roids in their cereal super early now a days? First we post an 11 year old that can bang out now this guy shatters the backboard. I swear they’ll be 360-windmilling with their eyes closed at the age of 7 pretty soon. Check out the footage, the commentator is a pretty funny part too.

“oooooooh NOOOOO WTF”

Oh and then right after finding that freshness, I came across this.

But it doesn’t stop there, let’s just have a dunk contest with this post. D-Wade sending fools into the stands?

There ya have it, now you be the judge.

Nate Robinson is a CLOWN!

Man Nate Rob is always getting way too hyped up about things. Looks like this time it finally caught up to him. The former Huksy gets so pumped after Paul Pierce makes this bucket that he literally falls head over heels. Check the footage for the evidence.

Durant Named USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year

After leading team USA to a gold medal in the FIBA World Basketball Championships in a perfect 9-0 record, Kevin Durant was named USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year. While most of the 2008 Olympic teams stayed home, Durant led the young 2010 team averaging 22.8 points (US record in the event), including shooting 56 percent from the field and 45 percent from beyond the arc. KD is also a candidate for the US Olympic Committee 2010 SportsMan of the Year Award. Legendary Coach Krzyzewski had this to say about Mr. USA Basketball, “Kevin brought maturity and a winning mindset to every practice and every game”. As if there was any doubt left, here is why Kevin Durant receives such a prestigious award.

Carmelo Anthony headed to New York?

Looks like rumors are flying all over the NBA courts these days with what Melo’s next move is going to be. According to sources involved in the ongoing trade talk with Carmelo and the Nuggets, Carmelo told the Nuggets he will not sign the $65,000,000 extension they have offered him unless he is traded to New York. The story is still developing and we will see what happens in the days to come.

Nash Achieves Perfection

When glancing at the stats of the Suns easy 125-108 win over the Wizards Monday night, it looks as if Phoenix point guard Steve Nash had a good game, but nothing too out of the ordinary for him. In the victory, Nash had 20 points and 17 assists (season high), but it was the way he did it that was truly amazing: perfection. No. 13 shot 8-8 from the field, including one from beyond the arc, and converted each of his three free throws. In case you were wondering about a fun ‘fresh fact’, Nash was also 4-4 on alley oops dishes. I mean we know it was never really a question, but if there was a doubt, perfection proves this Canadian can play some ball . . . Have a look fresh fans!

2010 Top Plays: High School Ball. Vol. 1

Peep these high school plays, this isht is ridiculous.

The Return of a King

In very possibly the most anticipated return in sports history, LeBron James will be back in Cleveland Thursday night. So far this season, the Miami Heat have been a bit of disappointment, but as King James pointed out “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. In tonight’s contest, you can be assured that the records will be the last thing on people’s mind, especially the fans of Cleveland. If the Cavaliers are able to edge off the Heat tonight, the city of Cleveland will consider their team’s season a success. But if the Heat . . . well let’s be honest, if Bron Bron is able to beat the Cavs, the season is a failure. Before we talk about the result, I want to discuss what happened.

After giving Cleveland seven long years of his Hall of Fame career (the seven years that were in his contract) LeBron realized he had two options. 1 – He could have stayed with the Cavaliers the rest of his career averaging close to 30 a game, continuing to win MVP after MVP. Or 2 – Finally get out of the sorry excuse for a sports town called Cleveland, and do what is logical in order to win a ring. Now most knowledgeable sport fans would realize number two was the better and more unselfish decision, as James sacrificed stats, and took a huge pay cut. But in the city of Cleveland, fans realized that without King James, they are done for, adios, HASTA LUEGO!!! Due to this, there is no doubt the ‘boo’s LeBron will receive tonight will vastly outweigh the cheers he ever got in his hometown. But in the end, whether you are loved or hated, only one thing matters: puttin’ the ball in the hoop. And I think we all know James ain’t too shabby at that. Look for LeBron to score 25-30, as his Miami squad gets a safe win on the road.

Here’s how some of the Ohio natives feel about the return of Lebron James.

Marvin Williams with a WTF dunk. (Way Too Fresh)

Marvin Williams posterizing two Knicks players. This one is pretty intense. Have a look below.

Dallas Mavericks remake Kanye’s Power Video

This Video is hilarious. Looks like Dirk can’t have all that power. Great remake, check it out.

Blake Griffin…again!

So we had a post not that long about this kid. Then he goes out Thanksgiving night and helps the Clippers get another win. He truly is the truth (a little play on words there). I still have no idea what he does to get that high in the air and just chill there. This game vs. the Kings he had 25 and 15. Check his highlights from Turkey Day below.

Welcome Back Kevin!

On the Thunder’s first possession Monday night versus the T’Wolves, there was a Kevin Durant sighting. Minnesota should have just walked off the floor after this, as they lost the game 117-107. Of course Durant’s return after two-games missed due to injury (left ankle sprain) was only in the freshest fashion finishing with 28 points. Tonight Oklahoma City take on the Dallas Mavericks at home, look for Durant to be very impressive yet again . . . after all, he always is.

FIGHT!! FIGHT!! FIGHT!!

We all know the situation; walkin’ down the hall, all of the sudden you think you might have heard that oh-so-infamous word. Now you start to quicken your stride a little hoping not to miss a second of what could be going on. And as your turn the corner you are now sprinting to the chant that you were hoping for “FIGHT…FIGHT…FIGHT…FIGHT.” Soon enough you are watching two goobers throwing aimless punches at each other over who is going to ask Cindy Lou Who to the spring formal. Well that’s exactly what’s happening here, except instead of two nerds fighting, it’s two entire college football teams! And instead of being over Cindy Lou Who, it was over a potential “cheap shot” University of Auburn tackle Nick Fairley laid on Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray in the fourth quarter. What followed was a good ole’ fashioned brawl!!!
(Fight starts at the 1:38 mark)

This got us here at FU starting to think about some of the other freshest brawls in sports history, hope you dont mind if we share!

Are you Kidding Me?!

Check out a pair of dunks from the “red shirt” rookie Blake Griffin, this guy is a the definition of a human highlight reel! A VERY BIG contender for this year’s Rookie of the Year (although he was officially a rookie last year, he was inactive all year, and therefor eligible for the award in the 2010-2011 season), Griffin is averaging 18.5 points per game and and 10.9 rebounds . . . um what? Rookies aren’t supposed to average double-doubles, well they also aren’t supposed to do be able to do this…

UPDATE: Whoops looks like we missed one…
